Whistler Municipal Government Photography

Municipal Government Photography for the Resort Municipality of Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

I am proud to have finished the summer portion of one of the largest contracts I have completed to date.  The Resort Municipality of Whistler in British Columbia, Canada contracted me and another photographer to create a corporate image library that covered all aspects of the local municipal government.  The project required a lot of planning and logistics to capture all of the images as all facilities, services and programs needed coverage. Over the course of the summer portion I photographed the municipal composting facilities, waste water treatment plant, recreation programs, public works, village maintenance, local commerce, utilities, road works, public works yard, parks, parks maintenance, engineering, trail maintenance, the valley trail network, tennis facilities, waste management, building department, commercial construction and public safety included bylaw services, municipal fire services and the local RCMP police force. The municipal government photography will be used for government communications with the public, to promote recreational programs including swimming, gym, sports and summer camp programs and to promote government facilities and programs that enhance Whistler as an all season world class destination.

The project required several skill sets as a photographer covering commercial, industrial, portrait, landscape and architectural photography. The Municipal Government Photography was captured at several indoor and outdoor locations throughout Whistler and required various lighting techniques and equipment. The municipal staff were thrilled with the images so far and look forward to using the images in their external and internal communications.

I am excited to add this Municipal Government Photography to my diverse photography portfolio and to completing the winter portion of the contract. The winter portion of the contract will cover ice skating facilities, cross country skiing facilities, snow clearing along with events and festivals.  I hope to work with other municipal and provincial governments to photograph their operations, services and staff in action.
